Badge Program FAQ

Everything you need to know about the Spectrum Care Pet certification program.

General

What is the Spectrum Care Pet Badge Program?

The Spectrum Care Pet Badge Program is a certification and membership platform for veterinary practices committed to the Spectrum of Care (SOC) approach. Certified practices earn a recognizable badge that signals to pet parents their commitment to presenting treatment options at multiple price points.

How is this different from AAHA or Fear Free certification?

The Spectrum Care Pet badge focuses specifically on accessible care and cost communication. It is complementary to existing certifications. A clinic can hold AAHA accreditation, Fear Free certification, and Spectrum Care Pet certification simultaneously.

Is this a medical accreditation?

No. The Spectrum Care Pet badge certifies clinic policies, philosophy, and patient communication practices. It does not certify medical competence, clinical procedures, or diagnostic capabilities.

Pricing & Billing

How much does certification cost?

Membership starts at $50/month for the Member tier, $99/month for Excellence, and $199/month for Full Spectrum. All tiers include a one-time $250 initiation fee.

Is there a discount for PupPilot members?

Yes. PupPilot subscribers receive $50/month off every plan and the $250 initiation fee is waived. This makes the Member tier free ($0/month) for PupPilot members.

Can I upgrade my tier later?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time. Your new monthly rate takes effect on your next billing cycle. There is no additional initiation fee when upgrading.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your membership at any time. Your badge and benefits remain active until the end of your current billing period. The initiation fee is non-refundable.

Certification Process

How do I apply for certification?

Complete the online application form with your practice details and SOC readiness information. Select your membership tier and submit. Our team will review your application and follow up within 5 business days.

What are the certification criteria?

Practices are assessed on four key areas: offering tiered treatment options, proactive cost communication, providing client education materials, and maintaining a non-judgmental care philosophy.

How long does the certification process take?

Most applications are reviewed within 5 business days. The full certification process, including any required follow-up, typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on your selected tier.

Do I need to recertify?

Certification is maintained through your active membership. As long as your membership is current and your practice continues to meet SOC standards, your certification remains valid.

Membership Benefits

What is included in the directory listing?

All certified practices appear in our Find a Vet directory with a badge indicator. Higher tiers receive enhanced listings with additional details, featured placement, and priority positioning in search results.

Can I use the badge on my own website?

Yes. Certified practices receive digital badge assets (SVG and PNG) for use on their website, social media, and marketing materials. Usage guidelines are provided with your certification.

What resources are included?

All members receive access to client handouts, self-assessment tools, and the community forum. Higher tiers unlock the full resource library, custom-branded materials, guided assessments, roundtable events, and advisory board access.

Sponsors

How does sponsorship work?

Companies can support the Spectrum Care Pet program through four sponsorship tiers: Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each tier offers different levels of brand visibility, content partnership opportunities, and association with the SOC movement. Sponsors do not earn certification badges. Contact us for details.

Who is the founding sponsor?

PupPilot (puppilot.co) is the founding Diamond sponsor. PupPilot is a separate brand within the same ecosystem that provides additional veterinary services and resources.
